Local area details:
Nestled at the foot of the Quantock Hills in Somerset, the Doniford Bay area is one of outstanding natural beauty, with many picturesque coastal walks. Doniford Beach is within a few minutes walk from any point in the park, where you can explore the rock pools and go fossil hunting throughout the day or watch the sun rise and set across the wide-open expanse of the Bristol Channel. Fabulous days out can be spent at the sandy beaches of Blue Anchor and St. Audries Bay, at imposing Dunster Castle with all its historic features, at the scenic West Somerset Steam Railway and at natural Cheddar Caves & Gorge. Watchet seafront is a short distance away and features a lighthouse, harbour and promenade together with many shops, pubs, restaurants and a maritime museum. The nearby resort towns of Minehead and Taunton are both within 30 minute’s driving distance. Further afield are Burnham-on-sea, Weston-super-mare and Glastonbury.
