Yorkshire Whitby to Whitehaven (Coast to Coast)
Begin your route on the east coast at Whitby, where you can experience your inner Dracula at the Abbey ruins. Head out west towards the North York Moors, over rugged landscapes. This first stage of the route is around 80 miles, no mean feat, but your reward will be the stunning countryside and remarkable vistas. You’ll possibly need to take a break at Hawes. Perhaps consider an overnight or two here, then take the next route, a further 80 miles to Whitehaven. You will pass through the Lake District, through Kendal and a cycle route around Lake Windermere.
Bournemouth to Brighton – South Coast challenge
This exciting route, although maybe not as challenging as some of the others listed, takes you along a route through the New Forest. Complete with wild ponies and winding tracks this is one of the prettiest routes in the country. Follow on through the pretty village of Droxford in Hampshire, across the South Downs and continue your ride, arriving in Brighton along the coast road.
Cardiff to Bangor, Wales top to bottom
There are some of the most fantastic UK cycle routes throughout Wales. One of the most exciting is the top to bottom, or the other way round, South to North ride, over around two days. Set out from Cardiff with your first day’s ride taking you to the north onto the Brecon Beacon mountain range, which offers amazing views. The second leg of the route will take you to Bangor passing through Snowdonia National Park.
