Mini Breaks and Holidays in South England for Christmas Markets

Holidays in South England, Christmas markets
Rate this post

It’s not unusual at this time of year for people to take short breaks or holidays in South England because some of the best Christmas markets can be found there.

You won’t want to be spending a lot on accommodation for a shopping trip around the markets. The festive season is expensive enough with gift and food buying. Static caravan rentals are therefore an excellent choice for cheap holidays in South England. Search the Rent My Caravan portal to book a caravan direct with private owners. When you have booked you can shop until you drop at these popular markets.

London Christmas Markets

As long as you book your caravan in the Home Counties (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, and Sussex) there are excellent transport links into the Capital. The choice of excellent markets in and around London is awe inspiring. These two markets are not to be missed.

Leicester Square – 11 November 2016 – 8 January 2017

Quite apart from the bargains you will find on this traditional Christmas market, it is a fantastic day out for adults and children alike.  Santa will be in his grotto dispelling the modern idea that he doesn’t exist! There are also lots of festive shows planned details of which can be found by clicking on Leicester Square Crimbo.  Kids will be thrilled with the La Soirée circus and everyone enchanted by the bubble blowing skills of Dennis Lock.

Hyde Park – 25 to 30 November 2016

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this beautifully created Winter Wonderland is a fantastic Christmas market where you can buy almost any gift imaginable. Competing with Leicester Square as to which is the most fun; the whole family will be entertained here.

You can go skating at the Magical Ice Kingdom rink, take a ride on the observation wheel; go to one of 2 circuses or just relax with a drink in one of the many festive bars.

You’ll find another Santa’s grotto here and a marvelous funfair with plenty of rides including a roller coaster.

You can purchase tickets by clicking on Winter Wonderland

Both of the above Christmas Markets are free to enter but for fairground rides and other activities, you’ll need to buy tickets.

Cheap accommodation for mini breaks and holidays in South England

There are plenty of static caravans to let for holidays in South England on Rent My Caravan. They vary in price depending on how luxurious they are and how near they are to where the action is. A mini-break would give you time to visit both markets. A week’s holiday would allow you to explore many more than two.
