Renting a static caravan in the Peak District National Park is a completely absorbing and fun place to be with stunning views, locations and a wealth of interesting things to do. It’s ideal for a short break or a fortnight’s holiday with plenty of affordable caravans for hire in the area.
Some people have the misguided impression that a static caravan holiday is pretty much like ‘getting back’ to nature. But anyone who owns or has rented one will tell you otherwise. It’s nothing of the sort. Some are finished to the most luxurious standards and are a proper home from home.
Why would I want to be stuck inland in a rental caravan? Well, there’s a multitude of offerings for the outward bound type, or even the lazy type.
What about a guided walk from a professional, who can point out the landmarks and history of the park. How about a cycle ride alone, with your family or in a group? There are organised rides, or you can just head out on your own. There’s even a ‘special’ tour you can take where aircraft wrecks are known to be, with an explanation of exactly what aircraft it was and all about the history.
Where did the Bakewell Tart originate?
Of course, you can visit Bakewell, which is renowned for being the birthplace of the Bakewell Tart, although the validity of this is occasionally disputed. But it matters not. There are plenty of places to sample this local ‘guilty pleasure’ along with a well-earned cup of tea or coffee. Even the journey to and from Bakewell is a treat in itself. You’ll find yourself wanting to stop every so often, so you can get a picture of this or that. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful!
Breweries, stately homes and gardens
There’s a ton of things to do in Bakewell and surrounding areas, all within easy reach of caravans for hire. How about a visit to the Thornbridge Brewery coupled with a tour of Thornbridge Hall and Gardens. Or even ‘stray’ a little further afield and visit the stunning Chatsworth House.
Whatever your inclination, be it the adventurous outdoor type, stroll around shops in the town or the learning type; short breaks or a long holiday, taken in static caravans for hire in the Peak District, provide rewarding memories that will be treasured for a lifetime.
