Rutland is a real hidden gem, being in the heart of rural East Midlands area, and renowned for having a wide variety of tourist activities available. The event is to raise funds for churches throughout the Lincolnshire region and it offers an uplifting and enjoyable evening.

Rutland Half Marathon – Empingham
If you are feeling energetic reserve your place to run in this annual half marathon, taking place on Sunday 27th September, around the shores of Europe’s largest man made reservoir.  Enjoy 13 miles of all terrain running and see nature and wildlife in its natural habitat as you jog along. Spectators can also enjoy the fantastic views that this county offers whilst cheering on the runners to the finish line.

Rutland Day 2015 – Sykes Lane, Rutland Water
This annual event is being held on 12th September with an aim to give local performers a stage to showcase their talents; for local businesses to promote their wares and for you to sample the region’s foodstuffs, alongside some premier cookery demonstrations with top chefs. Several bands will be playing on the main stage throughout the day with performances from Tin Pigeons, Funk Soul Brother and the Rutland Concert Band.

Burghley Horse Trials – Burghley Park
A must for any equestrian and country life fan is a visit to the Horse Trials taking place 3rd – 6th September at Burghley House and Park, known as a three day event, confusingly taking place over four days! With stages such as Cross Country, Dressage and Show Jumping; together with the many stalls offering clothing, equestrian objects and a wide variety of food and crafts there is something for everyone.
